Also known as: Juvederm Vycross, Juvéderm Volift, Juvéderm Voluma, Juvéderm Volbella, Juvéderm Ultra
What is Juvéderm?
Juvéderm is Allergan's hyaluronic acid filler brand and has been in Europe since 2006. Allergan has been owned by AbbVie since 2020. The Vycross technology is the family's patented cross-linking method, blending different HA molecular weights for longer durability and soft integration in the tissue.
How Juvéderm works
Vycross technology combines 90% low molecular weight HA with 10% high molecular weight HA — the low component gives soft integration; the high component gives structure. The product family is optimised for different indications: Volbella for thin lip filler, Volift for fuller lip filler, Voluma for deep volume restoration, Volite for skin booster.
Juvéderm at Dibélle
At Dibélle, the Juvéderm portfolio is used for lips (Volbella, Volift), cheekbones (Voluma), nasolabial folds, and the jawline. Juvéderm Ultra Smile is a specific lip filler with built-in lidocaine. The Juvéderm offer package is one of the most ordered introduction packages.
Results and safety
Results are visible immediately and last 9-24 months depending on product. Voluma in the cheekbones is one of few fillers with documented 18-month effect. Allergan publishes extensive clinical data. Like all HA fillers, Juvéderm can be dissolved with Hylase if needed.
Common questions about Juvéderm
- Which Juvéderm suits lips?
- Volbella gives thin natural lips with subtle hydration. Volift gives slightly fuller lips with soft integration. Ultra Smile is a standard lip filler with lidocaine. Consultation drives the choice based on desired volume and structure.
- Is Juvéderm the same as Botox?
- No, but they are made by the same company (Allergan/AbbVie). Juvéderm is hyaluronic acid filler that adds volume. Botox is botulinum toxin that relaxes muscle. They often complement each other — botox for movement lines, Juvéderm for volume loss.
- How long does Juvéderm Voluma last?
- Voluma in cheekbones and temples lasts 18-24 months — among the longest for an HA filler. The high cross-linking and Vycross technology give a 'sleeping beauty' effect where filler integrates softly without losing structure.
- What is Vycross technology?
- Vycross blends different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid (90% low + 10% high) in cross-linking. The result is a gel that is both shape-stable (structure) and softly integrating (natural appearance). Patented by Allergan.
