Also known as: HArmonyCa, Harmony Ca, HArmonyCa with Lidocaine
What is HarmonyCa?
HarmonyCa is Allergan/AbbVie's hybrid product — a combination of cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) and calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres (CaHA) in the same syringe. Launched in Europe in 2022, it fills the gap between the Juvéderm portfolio (pure HA) and the Radiesse concept (pure CaHA).
How HarmonyCa works
The cross-linked HA matrix gives immediate volume on injection — you see the result straight away. The CaHA microspheres signal fibroblasts to build new collagen over several months. As the HA carrier absorbs, the collagen takes over. The hybrid technology gives the advantages of both classes: immediate effect plus biostimulation.
HarmonyCa at Dibélle
At Dibélle, HarmonyCa is used mainly for the jawline, cheekbones, and mid-face where a combination of direct volume and biostimulation suits better than pure filler or pure CaHA. It is one of the top 5 most-booked treatments. The Lidocaine version builds in anaesthesia for pain-free treatment.
Results and safety
Direct results from the HA carrier last 6-9 months. Biostimulating effect from CaHA lasts 12-18 months in total. HarmonyCa can be partially dissolved with Hylase (the HA fraction), but the CaHA fraction remains. Correct placement — deep subdermal — is critical. Choose an injector with specific HarmonyCa training.
Common questions about HarmonyCa
- What is the difference between HarmonyCa and Radiesse?
- Both contain CaHA microspheres. Radiesse has a CMC gel carrier. HarmonyCa has a cross-linked HA carrier. Result: HarmonyCa integrates more softly and can be partially dissolved; Radiesse is firmer but cannot be dissolved at all.
- Can HarmonyCa be dissolved?
- Partially. The HA fraction can be dissolved with Hylase, but the CaHA microspheres remain until the body breaks them down naturally over 12-18 months. That makes the injector's precision important.
- How long does HarmonyCa last?
- Initial volume from the HA carrier lasts 6-9 months. Biostimulating effect from CaHA lasts 12-18 months. Total result: about 18 months as biostimulation takes over once the HA carrier has absorbed.
- Is HarmonyCa used in the lips?
- No. HarmonyCa contains CaHA microspheres which should not be injected into lips because of nodule risk. For lips we use pure HA filler such as Juvéderm Volbella or Restylane Kysse.
