What makes Vycross technology special? Vycross is Allergan's patented cross-linking method where hyaluronic acid chains of different molecular weights are combined. The result is a gel that's both soft enough to follow lip movement and stable enough to retain shape over time. The lidocaine numbs the tissue during injection, so most clients describe the treatment as light pressure rather than pain. Longevity and maintenance. A Juvéderm Ultra Smile treatment normally lasts 6 to 12 months depending on your metabolism, training level and how much is injected. Many clients choose to top up before the result fades completely, as it gives smooth continuous transitions instead of "before and after" swings. Which areas are treated? The treatment suits lip volume, definition of the vermilion border, correction of asymmetry and softening of fine lines around the mouth. For larger volume changes we sometimes combine with Juvéderm Volift or Volbella depending on your goals, which we discuss during the complimentary consultation. How does the treatment work? We start by applying numbing cream for 15 minutes and mark the injection points in front of a mirror so you can see the plan before the first needle. A typical amount is 0.5 to 1 ml per session, depending on starting volume and desired effect. The injection itself takes 15 to 25 minutes with an ultra-thin needle or microcannula. Results are immediate, though minor swelling is common during the first day. Aftercare. Avoid intensive training, sauna and alcohol for the first 24 hours. Light bruising or swelling normally subsides within 2 to 4 days. Within two weeks we book a complimentary follow-up for review and possible fine-tuning. According to applicable rules, treatment takes place at the earliest 48 hours after consultation. The treatment is not performed on pregnant, breastfeeding individuals or those under 18.
