Also known as: Plinest Fast, PhilArt Plinest
What is Plinest?
Plinest is made by Italian Mastelli, the company that introduced polynucleotides in aesthetic medicine. Plinest has been on the market longer than Nucleofill and has a strong clinical evidence base. The active substance is polynucleotides extracted from trout or salmon sperm and purified to medical grade.
How Plinest works
The polynucleotides in Plinest bind to adenosine A2A receptors in fibroblasts and trigger three processes: increased collagen and elastin production, better microcirculation, reduced inflammation. The high molecular weight also gives mild tissue support and hydration.
Plinest at Dibélle
At Dibélle, Plinest is used mainly for bio-revitalisation of periorbital skin (PhilArt Eye). Treatment is given as a course of 3-4 sessions spaced 2-3 weeks apart. Maintenance every 4-6 months after the course.
Results and safety
Results emerge over 6-8 weeks and last 6-9 months. Allergy risk is low. Salmon/fish allergy is a contraindication because the polynucleotides come from fish sources. Common side effects: pinprick marks and mild swelling on day one.
Common questions about Plinest
- What is the difference between Plinest and Nucleofill?
- Both are polynucleotide products from Italian manufacturers. Plinest (Mastelli) is the pioneer with the longest clinical history. Nucleofill (Promoitalia) has a broader product portfolio with several area-specific versions. Effect is comparable.
- Is Plinest the same as Rejuran?
- No. Both are DNA-based but molecular weight differs. Rejuran contains PDRN (50-1500 dalton). Plinest contains polynucleotides (200,000-1 million dalton). Plinest therefore has both regenerative and mild structural support effect; Rejuran is pure regeneration.
- How long does Plinest last?
- Results last 6-9 months. Maintenance every 4-6 months is recommended for sustained results.
- Can I get Plinest with a fish allergy?
- No. The polynucleotides in Plinest are extracted from fish sources. Salmon or fish allergy is a contraindication. With allergy, alternatives like exosomes or other regenerative treatments are discussed.
