Restylane

Galderma's hyaluronic acid portfolio with 25+ years of clinical history. The world's first HA filler.

Also known as: Restylane Lyft, Restylane Volyme, Restylane Lidocaine, Restylane Skinboosters

What is Restylane?

Restylane is Galderma's hyaluronic acid filler brand and has the longest clinical history on the market — approved in the EU in 1996, FDA in 2003. The product introduced NASHA technology (Non-Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid) which became the foundation of the modern filler industry. Later XpresHAn (OBT) was launched for softer flow properties.

How Restylane works

Different products in the range have different cross-linking and particle size. Firmer gels (Lyft, Volyme) suit structural work in cheekbones and the jaw. Softer gels (Kysse, Refyne) suit lips and mobile areas. All share the same active substance — hyaluronic acid — but formulation governs indication and durability.

Restylane at Dibélle

At Dibélle, the Restylane portfolio is used for lips (Kysse, Refyne), cheekbones and jawline (Lyft, Volyme), nasolabial folds (Defyne), and skin booster protocols (Restylane Skinboosters Vital). The Lidocaine version builds in anaesthesia for pain-free treatment.

Results and safety

Results are visible immediately and last 6-18 months depending on product and area. Because it is hyaluronic acid, the substance can be dissolved with Hylase if needed. Galderma's portfolio has the largest body of published clinical data of any HA brand.

Common questions about Restylane

Is Restylane better than Juvéderm?
Both are hyaluronic acid fillers from leading manufacturers. Restylane (Galderma) has firmer gel — better for structure. Juvéderm (Allergan) has softer gel — better for mobile areas like lips. The difference is subtle and product choice depends more on indication and injector preference.
How long does Restylane last?
It depends on product: Restylane Lyft in cheekbones lasts 12-18 months. Restylane Kysse in lips lasts 6-9 months. Skinboosters Vital lasts 4-6 months. Re-injection is done as effect fades.
What is NASHA technology?
NASHA (Non-Animal Stabilised Hyaluronic Acid) is Galderma's patented cross-linking method giving a firm particulate gel — good for structure. XpresHAn technology (also called OBT) gives a softer integrated gel — good for mobile areas.
Can Restylane be dissolved?
Yes. Because Restylane is hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved with the enzyme hyaluronidase (Hylase) within 24-48 hours. This is one of the main advantages over biostimulators like Sculptra or Radiesse.
