Also known as: Stylage S, Stylage M, Stylage L, Stylage XL, Stylage XXL, Stylage Special Lips
What is Stylage?
Stylage is made by French Vivacy and is France's second-largest filler brand after Galderma. Launched in 2009. What sets Stylage apart from competitors: IPN-Like cross-linking combined with built-in mannitol — a naturally occurring sugar alcohol that functions as an antioxidant.
How Stylage works
The mannitol in Stylage neutralises free radicals that would otherwise prematurely break down the hyaluronic acid. This gives longer durability and less swelling after injection. The IPN-Like cross-linking gives cohesion without losing elasticity. Different versions vary in particle size and cross-linking density.
Stylage at Dibélle
At Dibélle, Stylage M, L, XL, and XXL are used for different indications: M for fine lines and the upper lip, L for lips and nasolabial folds, XL for cheekbones and jaw, XXL for deep volume restoration or body. Special Lips is a variant optimised specifically for lips.
Results and safety
Results last 9-18 months depending on product and area. The mannitol integration generally gives less swelling and bruising after injection than pure HA fillers. As HA, the substance can be dissolved with Hylase.
Common questions about Stylage
- Why mannitol in Stylage?
- Mannitol is a sugar alcohol that functions as an antioxidant — neutralising free radicals that would otherwise break down hyaluronic acid after injection. The result: longer durability and less swelling in the first days compared with pure HA fillers.
- Which Stylage suits lips?
- Stylage L or Stylage Special Lips suit standard lip filler best. Stylage M can be used for subtle lip filler or upper lip lines. Special Lips is optimised specifically for lip anatomy.
- How does Stylage differ from Juvéderm?
- Both are HA fillers from leading manufacturers. Juvéderm (Allergan) uses Vycross technology without antioxidants. Stylage (Vivacy) uses IPN-Like technology with mannitol antioxidant. Stylage generally produces less post-injection swelling.
- Can Stylage be dissolved?
- Yes. Because Stylage is hyaluronic acid, it can be dissolved with Hylase within 24-48 hours. The mannitol addition does not affect the enzyme's ability to break down the HA chain.
