Our licensed nurse tailors the treatment individually to your skin and your goals. How does Sculptra differ from regular filler? A hyaluronic acid filler fills mechanically and then breaks down without leaving anything behind. Sculptra works the opposite way: the PLLA microparticles prompt your own fibroblasts to produce new collagen over the following weeks. The particles themselves are fully broken down by the body within a few months, but the collagen that has formed remains. It is your own collagen, built by your own cells, which is why the change looks completely natural. What happens and when? The first improvements appear within a few weeks, but the full effect builds over three to six months as new collagen forms. Typically two to three sessions are needed, four to six weeks apart, depending on how much laxity is being treated. Results can last up to two years, considerably longer than a traditional HA filler. Which areas? Sculptra is used primarily to restore volume and firmness in cheeks, temples and jawline, and to improve texture in the neck and decolletage. The treatment also works well as a complement to Profhilo or Radiesse for a more complete skin result. Please note that Sculptra is not used in the lips, forehead or nose. Treatment and aftercare. We numb the area and inject with a fine needle or microcannula. Immediately after treatment the area is massaged, and at home you follow the 5-5-5 rule: massage for five minutes, five times a day, for five days. This helps the PLLA particles distribute evenly in the skin. Avoid intense exercise, sauna and direct sun for the first 24 hours. Pregnant and breastfeeding individuals cannot be treated. Let us know about any conditions or medications before booking. In accordance with current regulations, we treat no earlier than 48 hours after the consultation. The same treatment type can be repeated within six months without a new cooling-off period.
