About the treatment
Dark circles and a tired look are rarely just about sleep. Under the eyes the skin is roughly half a millimetre thick, the vessels sit close to the surface and the tissue loses tone earlier than the rest of the face. Polynucleotides work exactly there, by building up the skin's own quality instead of filling it out.
Polynucleotides are purified from salmon DNA and consist of long chains of nucleotides, 200,000 to 1 million dalton. The high molecular weight means they both signal regeneration and give mild support in the tissue. Around the eyes that is a real advantage: you get tone and hydration without the risk of swelling or the bluish shadows that misplaced filler can create in thin skin.
The treatment gives you: - Better tone and thickness in the skin around the eye - Less show-through from the vessels, which otherwise deepens dark circles - Smoother fine lines and crow's feet - A brighter, more rested look
We inject 2 ml superficially in many small depots and the session takes around 15 minutes. Numbing cream is used if needed. Expect small raised bumps and possibly a small bruise, which usually settle within a few days. The effect builds over 6 to 8 weeks. A typical plan is 2 to 3 treatments a few weeks apart, then maintenance a couple of times a year.
When you should not have this treatment: pregnant and breastfeeding individuals cannot be treated. If you have a salmon or fish allergy, an active infection in the area or are being treated for an autoimmune condition, raise it with us first. Like all injectable treatments it is performed by a registered nurse and no earlier than 48 hours after the consultation.
The eye area is where the injector's experience shows most clearly. Bibbi has treated that zone since 2011, with us at Dibélle, Kullagatan 40 in Helsingborg.
