About the treatment
Radiesse is more than a regular filler. It is a skin stimulator that delivers two effects at once. Immediately after treatment it fills areas where volume is missing, and over the following months it activates your own collagen production. At Dibélle in Helsingborg, our licensed nurse uses Radiesse 1.5 ml to restore structure along the jawline and cheekbones, smooth fine wrinkles, treat scars and rejuvenate the hands. How does it work? Radiesse consists of microspheres of calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), a mineral that occurs naturally in the body's bones and teeth, suspended in a gel. The gel provides immediate volume. The microspheres function as a scaffold around which your fibroblasts build new collagen and elastin. After three to six months the gel is absorbed and the newly formed collagen remains, giving structure that lasts 12 to 18 months. What sets Radiesse apart from hyaluronic acid filler? Regular HA fillers fill out and then break down without leaving anything behind. Radiesse prompts your skin to build new support from within. This is also why Radiesse cannot be dissolved with Hylase. Unlike HA it is broken down naturally by the body. Radiesse pairs well with Sculptra or Profhilo for biostimulation, and can be combined with HA filler in the lips where Radiesse itself is not used. The treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes. We numb the area with cream beforehand, then inject with a fine needle or microcannula depending on the area. You can return to everyday life immediately, but avoid intense exercise, sauna and facial massage for the first 24 hours. Mild redness and swelling usually subside within one to two days. Please note that Radiesse is not used in the lips, under the eyes (tear trough) or in the nose. Pregnant and breastfeeding individuals cannot be treated. Let us know about any conditions or medications before booking. In accordance with current regulations, we treat no earlier than 48 hours after the consultation. The same treatment type can be repeated within six months without a new cooling-off period.
