About the treatment

Sometimes a filler treatment does not turn out as expected. Perhaps lumps have formed, there is asymmetry, or the filler has migrated. Hylase (hyaluronidase) is an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid-based filler, allowing us to correct complications or completely remove filler that is no longer desired. At Dibélle in Helsingborg, filler removal with Hylase is performed by a licensed nurse. The product is injected with a fine needle directly into the area where the filler needs to be dissolved. The enzyme breaks down the hyaluronic acid locally, and results are usually visible within 24 to 48 hours. In some cases more than one treatment is needed, depending on how much filler needs to be removed. Common side effects include minor bleeding at the injection site, temporary bruising and swelling that subsides within a few days. Before treatment we perform an allergy test to rule out hypersensitivity to hyaluronidase. Please note that Hylase only dissolves hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Products such as Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) or Sculptra (PLLA) cannot be dissolved with Hylase. Please inform us about any medications or underlying conditions before booking. Treatment is not performed on pregnant or breastfeeding individuals. The cooling-off period is 48 hours after consultation, and the same treatment type can be repeated within six months without a new waiting period.

Before your visit

How to prepare

Avoid blood thinners

Avoid Ibuprofen, Aspirin and alcohol at least 48 hours before your treatment. This reduces the risk of bruising and swelling.

Arrive makeup-free

We cleanse the treatment area beforehand, but it goes quicker and smoother if you arrive without makeup on your face.

Plan your day

Most treatments have minimal downtime and you can resume daily activities right away. Avoid intense exercise on the same day, though.

Frequently asked questions

What is Hylase and how does it work?

Hylase (hyaluronidase) is an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid-based filler. The enzyme is injected with a fine needle directly into the area where the filler needs to be removed and breaks down the hyaluronic acid locally. Results are usually visible within 24 to 48 hours. At Dibélle in Helsingborg, filler removal with Hylase is performed by a licensed nurse.

Can all types of filler be dissolved with Hylase?

No, Hylase only dissolves hyaluronic acid-based fillers such as Juvéderm, Restylane and Stylage. Products like Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) or Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) cannot be dissolved with Hylase and break down naturally over time.

Does filler removal with Hylase hurt?

Most people experience slight discomfort during the injection, similar to a regular filler treatment. The area can be numbed with cooling or local anaesthetic. Swelling and tenderness are common for a few days afterwards.

How many treatments are needed to remove filler?

In most cases one treatment is enough, but if there is a large amount of filler to dissolve, 2 to 3 sessions spaced 2 to 3 weeks apart may be needed. Our nurse will assess the need during the consultation.

Can I have new filler after Hylase?

Yes, but we recommend waiting at least 2 to 4 weeks after the Hylase treatment before injecting new filler. This gives the skin time to recover and ensures that all old filler has been completely broken down.

How much does filler removal with Hylase cost at Dibélle?

At Dibélle in Helsingborg, filler removal with Hylase starts from 2,000 SEK. The price may vary depending on the size of the area being treated. Book a complimentary consultation for a personal assessment.
