About the treatment
Sometimes a filler treatment does not turn out as expected. Perhaps lumps have formed, there is asymmetry, or the filler has migrated. Hylase (hyaluronidase) is an enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid-based filler, allowing us to correct complications or completely remove filler that is no longer desired. At Dibélle in Helsingborg, filler removal with Hylase is performed by a licensed nurse. The product is injected with a fine needle directly into the area where the filler needs to be dissolved. The enzyme breaks down the hyaluronic acid locally, and results are usually visible within 24 to 48 hours. In some cases more than one treatment is needed, depending on how much filler needs to be removed. Common side effects include minor bleeding at the injection site, temporary bruising and swelling that subsides within a few days. Before treatment we perform an allergy test to rule out hypersensitivity to hyaluronidase. Please note that Hylase only dissolves hyaluronic acid-based fillers. Products such as Radiesse (calcium hydroxylapatite) or Sculptra (PLLA) cannot be dissolved with Hylase. Please inform us about any medications or underlying conditions before booking. Treatment is not performed on pregnant or breastfeeding individuals. The cooling-off period is 48 hours after consultation, and the same treatment type can be repeated within six months without a new waiting period.
