Which facial treatment suits your skin type?

Your skin type decides which treatment gives the best result. Here is a guide:

Dry skin

Dry skin lacks lipids and often has a sensation of tightness. It can flake, look matte and show fine dehydration lines that the dryness emphasises.

We recommend: Viscoderm Skinko as a course of 3 to 4 treatments, where the skin feels rehydrated after the first session while texture and radiance improve over the course. If the skin has lost firmness as well, we move on to Profhilo. Moisture comes first, firmness after.

Oily and acne-prone skin

Overactive sebaceous glands produce a shiny surface, enlarged pores and a risk of inflammation. The temptation to wash often makes the problem worse.

We recommend: Mela Peel Forte, which combines lactic acid, salicylic acid, phytic acid, kojic acid, retinol and arbutin. You go home with the peel on your skin and rinse it off after 2 to 6 hours. For deeper pigmentation, Dermapen gives gradual brightening over 3 to 4 treatments.

How often should you go?

Frequency depends on the treatment and on what you want to achieve:

Viscoderm Skinko: a course of 3 to 4 treatments 2 to 3 weeks apart, then maintenance a couple of times a year.

Dermapen: 3 to 5 treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart for fine lines, then maintenance once or twice a year.

Chemical peels: Mela Peel Forte is given as 1 to 3 treatments a month apart. For Cosmo Peel, Bibbi picks depth and interval from how the skin responds.

PRP: 1 to 3 treatments a year depending on the state of your skin. Full effect shows after about three months, and the result normally holds for up to 18 months.

Does the treatment hurt?

It depends on which treatment you have. Dermapen is done with numbing cream, for PRP we numb the skin before the injections if you want us to, and Viscoderm Skinko goes in as many small, superficial depots where the bumps afterwards settle within a few hours. Say so at the consultation if you are afraid of needles, and we will go through numbing before we start.

Can I wear make-up directly after?

After Profhilo and PRP you keep the treated area free of make-up for the first 24 hours. Over that same day you skip the sauna, hard training and direct sun, whichever injectable treatment you have had. After a peel the skin flakes for a few days, and after Mela Peel Forte you apply K-Ceutic morning and evening for 3 to 5 days.

How quickly will I see results?

The skin feels rehydrated after the first Viscoderm session, while radiance and texture improve over the course. Profhilo shows partly straight away, with the full result after about two months, and PRP reaches full effect after about three months as the new collagen production matures. After a peel the result comes through once the flaking has settled.

Is a facial treatment suitable for all ages?

Injectable treatments are not carried out on anyone under 18, and we do not treat pregnant or breastfeeding clients.
