About the treatment
Why is it called the vampire treatment? Because your own blood does the work. The growth factors in the plasma stimulate collagen production and cell renewal in a way no synthetic product can replicate. The result is skin that looks healthier, firmer and more radiant, completely naturally.
Step by step. We start with a short health conversation covering your skin, its history and what you want to achieve. Then we take a small blood sample, exactly as at any routine blood test. The sample goes into our centrifuge where the components separate, and the plasma with its concentrated growth factors is drawn off into a sterile syringe. We numb the skin before the injections if you prefer, and the plasma is then injected in a fine pattern across the cheeks, forehead, neck or whichever areas you agreed on during the consultation.
PRP and PRF are related but not identical. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is centrifuged faster and gives a liquid concentrate of platelets and growth factors. PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin) is centrifuged more slowly and without additives, which lets the fibrin form a three-dimensional net that holds the growth factors at the injection site for longer. We offer both techniques at the clinic, and which one suits you depends on your skin, the area and what you want. We go through the differences together at the consultation.
What the treatment provides: - Improved skin texture and skin tone - Reduced fine lines and wrinkles - Increased collagen production and elasticity - Natural radiance without additives
How you will feel afterwards. Some swelling and minor bruising can appear at the injection sites, but they usually settle within a day or two. Avoid make-up on the treated area for the first 24 hours, and skip the sauna, intense exercise and sunbeds for the same period. Full effect shows after about three months as the new collagen matures, and it normally lasts up to 18 months. We recommend 1 to 3 treatments a year depending on your skin and your goal.
How to prepare. Drink extra water the day before and eat a normal meal before your visit so the blood sample is as good as it can be. Tell us if you take blood-thinning medication or have any blood disorder. If you are unsure whether PRP is right for you, book a free consultation and we will look at your skin and answer your questions before you book the treatment.
PRP is classic skin rejuvenation where every drop counts. Bibbi has done the treatment since 2011, and we welcome you at Dibélle, Kullagatan 40 in Helsingborg.
Pregnant and breastfeeding individuals cannot be treated. In accordance with current regulations, we treat no earlier than 48 hours after the consultation. The same treatment type can be repeated within six months without a new cooling-off period.
