Vad är Botox egentligen?
Botox är handelsnamnet på botulinumtoxin typ A, en renad protein som används för att tillfälligt dämpa aktiviteten i specifika ansiktsmuskler. Inom estetisk medicin handlar det inte om att frysa ansiktet utan om att mjuka upp de muskulära rörelsemönster som skapar uttryck du hellre vill minska, som pannrynkor, bekymmersveck mellan ögonbrynen eller leenderader runt ögonen. På Dibélle i Helsingborg utförs all botoxbehandling av legitimerad sjuksköterska med över 15 års erfarenhet av injektionsbehandlingar.
Så fungerar muskelavslappningen
När botulinumtoxin injiceras i en muskel hindrar det den nervsignal som annars får muskeln att dra ihop sig. Effekten börjar märkas efter tre till fem dagar och når sitt fulla uttryck runt två veckor efter behandlingen. Muskeln är inte inaktiverad för alltid, kommunikationen mellan nerv och muskel är temporärt dämpad. Kroppen bygger långsamt upp ny nervkommunikation igen, vilket är anledningen till att effekten klingar av efter tre till sex månader och behandlingen behöver upprepas om du vill bibehålla resultatet.

Vad händer under ditt besök?
Själva behandlingen tar mellan 15 och 45 minuter beroende på antal områden. Vi börjar med att markera injektionspunkterna och du får gärna se hur vi planerar framför spegeln innan något sticks. Injektionerna utförs med ultratunna nålar och upplevs av de flesta som ett lätt tryck snarare än smärta. Vi följer betänketidsregeln, vilket innebär att själva behandlingen sker tidigast 48 timmar efter konsultationen. Du kan återgå till ditt vardagliga schema direkt efter besöket.
Efter behandlingen och återbesök
